Devoid of bovine odours, dust and children, we left our Cowaramup dairy farm and work clothes behind and travelled up to Perth. Equipped with a sense of freedom, and our glad rags, we were prepared for an evening out with fellow WA members of the Dairy Industry Association of Australia. Saturday 16 March was the WA divisions 2013 Awards Night and our journey proved to be well worth it.
The judges deemed our new Passionately Fruity ice cream worthy of gold and presented us with a first place medal. In addition, we also scooped silver for our milk and three other new ice cream flavours:
- Raspberry with Belgian White Chocolate
- Ginger Infused Coffee with Chocolate Ripple
- Chocolate with Rum Spiked Raisins
Paul and I love the process of developing new flavours and we’re over the mooon with these awards.
As our Passionately Fruity won gold, we are automatically placed into the national competition to be held in May 2013. So fingers crossed for this event!
